Sixth grade, we will be typing the Alphabetic Keyboard using the software program called Microtype throughout the entire semester.

Seventh grade, we will be using Microsoft Word to type reports, letters, email with attachments, memos, and create tables and outlines. Students will learn how to manage files by creating, saving, and retrieving documents from various sources.

Students can redo any lesson they need to in resource or in class. Microtype cannot be accessed from home, all lessons must be typed here at Ozark Middle School. There are makeup lessons in Google Classroom If you need to make up a lesson at home.

Course Description:

This course is designed to teach the alphabetic and punctuation keys, keyboard numbers, and symbols. Every lesson contains timed exercises and students are encouraged to meet speed and accuracy goals. The purpose of these timed exercises is to get the fingers and mind working together. Students are expected to complete all of the lessons in the 6th grade Microtype keyboarding software. I will be grading technique and completion of lessons in the Google Classroom before the due date provided. However, students will not be penalized in any way if we as a class do not get to all of the lessons.
