What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health care profession that, through the use of modifications and therapeutic activities, helps individuals obtain the skills necessary to perform tasks or "occupations" associated with daily living for work, play, self care and school. Occupation refers to activities that may support the health, well-being, and development of an individual (AOTA, 2008). Occupational therapists work in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, and schools. The information in this website focuses on OT services for school aged children. We help our students develop the skills necessary to achieve success within the classroom setting, making learning and participation possible.
