There is NOTHING that is too minor or insignificant to share.
The City of Oxnard offers a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect(s) in homicide cases.

Case 16-54677 – The murder of Oscar Manuel Dominguez Jr.
In May 2016 Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 900 block of Lodgewood Way regarding a stabbing victim. Officers located Oscar Manuel Dominguez with at least one stab wound. Emergency Services Personnel attended to Dominguez and transported Dominguez to the Ventura County Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries. Dominguez may have been involved in a fight with several subjects in the area of Lantana St and Gonzales Rd prior to being located in the 900 block of Lodgewood way.

OPD Case 16-58944 – The murder of Noe Mosqueda Ordaz
In June 2016 Oxnard Police Department Officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting victim in the 4800 block of Terrace Avenue. Officers located Noe Mosqueda Ordaz inside a nearby residence. Ordaz suffered at least one gunshot wound. Ordaz was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance. Unfortunately, Ordaz later succumbed to his injuries.
A dark colored sedan with dark rims was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed after the shots were heard.

OPD Case 16-59689 – The murder of Ramiro Pardo Delgado
In June 2016 Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 1700 block of S. E St regarding a shooting victim. Officers arrived on scene and located Ramiro Pardo Delgado with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency Services Personnel attended to Delgado and transported Delgado to the Ventura County Medical Center. Delgado subsequently died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 16-64913 – The murder of David Izai Garcia
In June 2016 Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 1300 block of S. C St regarding a shooting victim. Officers located David Izai Garcia with multiple gunshot wounds and lying in the alley. Emergency Services Personnel attended to Garcia, however Garcia ultimately died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 16-67931 – The murder of Billy Scott Navarro
In July 2016 Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 300 block of W. Vineyard Ave regarding a possible trespass in one of the apartments. Officers arrived on scene and searched the apartment. Officers found Billy Scott Navarro deceased and lying on the floor from a gunshot wound. Navarro was also the former resident of the apartment in which he was found.

OPD Case 16-78679 – The murder of Maurillo Primo De La Cruz
In July 2016 Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 800 block of Cooper Rd regarding an unresponsive subject. Officers arrived on scene and located Maurillo Primo De La Cruz lying in the alley and appeared to have been assaulted. Emergency Service Personnel were on scene, but unfortunately, De La Cruz died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 15-4815 – The murder of Jose Ramon Escobar
In January 2015, Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 5100 block of Perkins Rd regarding a shots fired call. Officer arrived on scene and located Jose Ramon Escobar. Escobar was seated in a vehicle and sustained at least one gunshot wound. Detectives determined that Escobar was seated in his vehicle preparing to leave for work when he was shot.

OPD Case 15-7627 – The murder of Luis Ramirez Amaro
In January 2015, Oxnard Police Department Officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the 200 block of Balsam Street. Officers arrived on scene and were told that Luis Ramirez Amaro was transported by private vehicle to St John’s Regional Medical Center, then to the Ventura County Medical Center. Detectives believe Amaro stood near his residence when he was confronted by an unknown suspect. Witnesses recall hearing multiple gunshots being fired and a vehicle speeding away from the scene. The vehicle was described as an older model, dark colored, foreign sedan.

OPD Case 15-22942 – The murder of Michael Andrade
In February 2015, Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 100 block of Eliza Ct. Officers arrived and located two shooting victims. One victim was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center. The second victim was Michael Andrade. Andrade was located near the front door of an unrelated address. Andrade sustained a gunshot wound and died from his injuries. Witnesses’ recall hearing multiple shots with suspects running away from the scene.

OPD Case 15-76576 – The murder of Robert Paul Sarles
In July 2015, Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to a dead body call in the area of Lemonwood Park. Officers arrived with the Oxnard Fire Department already on scene. Officers saw the victim Robert Paul Sarles with at least one gunshot wound. Sarles died as a result of his injuries. Detectives learned Sarles was shot the night before.

OPD Case 15-88276 – The murder of Francisco Iraheta Mendez
In August 2015, Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 200 block of Chester Way regarding a shooting victim. Officers arrived and located Francisco Iraheta Mendez with at least one gunshot wound. Mendez ran back to his residence after being shot. Emergency Services Personnel transported Mendez to the Ventura County Medical Center where Mendez ultimately died from his injuries. Witnesses stated two subjects were seen leaving the immediate area after shots were heard.

OPD Case 15-86621 – The murder of Bryan Ramirez
In August 2015 Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to a person hit by a vehicle in the 300 block of N. G St. Offers located 18 year old Bryan Ramirez lying on the street with significant injuries when they arrived on scene. A gray colored sedan was seen leaving the scene after Ramirez was found on the road. Ramirez was transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center. Ramirez ultimately died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 14-18306 - The murder of Daniel Herrera Navarro
In February 2014, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of Canterbury Way. The officers located Daniel Herrera Navarro with multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived on scene. Navarro died as a result of his injuries. Officers believed Navarro was riding a bicycle prior to the shooting.

OPD Case 14-32581 - The murder of Gerardo Basillio Cahuantzi
In April 2014, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1000 block of W. Gonzales Rd. Officers arrived on scene and located Gerardo Basillio Cahuantzi in the alley. Cahuantzi appeared to have suffered several gunshot wounds and died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 14-40217 - The murder of Ruben Leon Alfaro
In April 2014, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a possible gunshot victim in the 5300 block of Cypress Rd. Officers arrived on scene and located 78 year old Ruben Leon Alfaro inside a vehicle. Alfaro had a gunshot wound and died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 14-91945 - The murder of Martin Jonhathan Guillen
In September 2014, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a possible shooting victim in the 4600 block of Cloyne St. Officers arrived on scene and located Martin Jonathan Guillen suffering from a gunshot wound and died as a result of his injuries. Detectives learned a subject was last seen running from the immediate area after a shot was heard.

OPD Case 14-117637 – The murder of Labh Nigah
In November 2014, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a possible battery victim located at Sierra Linda Park. The Oxnard Fire Department and Gold Coast Paramedics arrived on scene prior to Oxnard Police Officers. Labh Nigah was located with multiple stab wounds and as a result died of his injuries. Witnesses’ say a male subject was seen leaving the area on foot. Two suspect composite sketches were obtained in this case. (Refer to the Cold Case Wanted Persons tab above to view the sketches).

OPD Case 14-121914 – The murder of Alberto Ramirez
In November 2014, Officers responded to the 500 block of Cooper Rd regarding a possible stabbing victim. Officers arrived on scene and located Alberto Ramirez with at least one stab wound. Emergency Services Personnel attended to Ramirez for several minutes but he ultimately died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 14-128772 – The murder of Jose Luis Sainz
In December 2014, Oxnard Police Officers responded to the 4400 block of S. G St., regarding a possible shooting victim. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim Jose Luis Sainz, lying on the street. Sainz appeared to have sustained at least one gunshot wound. Emergency Services Personnel attended to Sainz, but unfortunately he died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 14-129036 – The murder of Humberto Ochoa
In December 2014, Oxnard Police Department responded to the 700 block of S. Oxnard Blvd regarding a possible shooting victim. Officer arrived on scene and located Humberto Ochoa with multiple gunshot wounds. Ochoa was immediately transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where he underwent surgery. Unfortunately, Ochoa succumbed to his injuries and died. There was an additional victim in the immediate area who was shot in the lower leg.

OPD Case 14-129613 – The murder of David Lara
In December 2014, Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 1200 block of Felicia Ct regarding a shots fired and subject down call for service. Officers arrived on scene and located David Lara lying on the street with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency Services Personnel attended to Lara for several minutes but Lara died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 13-4982- The murder of Pamela Sue Silva
In March 2013, Oxnard Police officers responded to a female subject laying on the ground in the west alley of the 1300 block of South E Street. Officers found that the victim, Pamela Sue Silva, was deceased. Detectives learned that Silva was a transient in the area and she frequented the downtown area of Oxnard. Detectives learned that Silva had been seen in the area of the 1200 block of Saviers Road in the hours prior to her murder. An autopsy revealed that Silva died as a result of being strangled.

OPD Case 13-65827 - The murder of Jose Gutierrez Dominguez
In November 2013, Oxnard Police officers responded to a call of multiple shooting victims in the 900 block of South H Street. Officers located three victims, one of which was Jose Gutierrez Dominguez. Dominguez succumbed to his injuries and died. Dominguez and the other victims had been cooking in the front yard of a residence just prior to the shooting. Witnesses saw two males running from the area of the shooting immediately after the gunfire.

In November 2013, Ricardo Silva was shot and killed in the area of McKinley Avenue and Colonia Road. Two males were seen running from the area where Silva was shot.

OPD Case 13-18092 - The murder of Javier Garcia Reyes
In September 2013, Javier "Pepe" Reyes was shot and killed in the area of Napoleon Avenue and Alexander Street. Reyes had just celebrated his 18th birthday earlier that evening with his family by going out to dinner. After dinner, he and a friend were walking on the street, when they were confronted by a group in individuals. A shooting occurred and Reyes was killed.

OPD Case 12-19587- The murder of Carlos Alberto Gonzalez
In September 2011, Oxnard Police officers responded to the area of the alley of 300 block of Cuesta del Mar for a shots fired call. Officers located two deceased males, who were seated on a couch. They also located a third victim, who also suffered a gunshot wound. The two males were identified as Carlos Gonzalez and Steven Carrillo. Detectives learned that the three victims had been seated on the couch in the alley drinking alcohol when two suspects approached them. The suspects confronted the three victims and opened fire on them. The suspects fled on foot.

In September 2011, Oxnard Police officers responded to the area of the alley of 300 block of Cuesta del Mar for a shots fired call. Officers located two deceased males, who were seated on a couch. They also located a third victim, who also suffered a gunshot wound. The two males were identified as Carlos Gonzalez and Steven Carrillo. OPD Case 12-17087 - The murder of Ira Joe McLaughlin IV
In August 2012, 25-year old Ira Joseph McLaughlin was found on South "J" Street north of Hemlock Street. A witness saw four individuals get out of a car and began to fight with McLaughlin. One of the four individuals fired one shot, which struck McLaughlin's upper body killing him. McLaughlin was a Army veteran, who served overseas in combat areas. He was loved by friends and family.

OPD Case 11-11299- The murder of Gustavo Rodriguez
In June 2011, Oxnard Police officers responded to the alley near the area of Hueneme Rd. and South J St. regarding a shooting victim. They located 18-year old Gustavo Rodriguez laying in the alley suffering from a gunshot wound. Rodriguez was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. Witnesses heard 4-5 gunshots and saw a early 2000's gold colored sedan leave the area at a high rate of speed.

OPD Case 10-18542 - The murder of Rudy Rivas
On August 29, 2010, Rudy was murdered in broad daylight. He, along with two people, decided to go to Mr. Kwik's Liquor store to make a purchase. Once there, Rudy was the only person to exit the car and go into the store. A car with a female driver and three males drove up. The males exited their car and pulled Rudys friend out of the car and began to assault him. When Rudy saw what was happening, he came out of the store to help his friend. One of the suspects then pulled out a gun and shot Rudy.
Rudy was born in Ventura and raised in Oxnard. He was the youngest of four children, and the only boy. Rudy brought so much happiness to his family. Rudy was good with his hands. His passion was fixing up cars. At times, he had several old cars waiting to be restored. He had a big part in the raising of his nieces and nephews. He wasn't selfish and was often described as a humble person by his friends. Rudy's long term plans were to open up a body shop and employ his friends.

OPD Case 10-10187- The murder of Salvador Rivera
In May 2010, Oxnard Police officers responded to the area of Yucca St. and Cloyne St. regarding a shooting victim. They located 18-year old Salvador Rivera laying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Ambulance personnel responded and pronounced him deceased. Detectives learned that just prior to the shooting, Rivera was inside a vehicle with several other persons. This vehicle passed a group of males, who were standing in front of a residence. Words were exchanged between the two groups, which lead to a fight. During the fight, a shooting occurred and Rivera was hit.

OPD Case 10-05578- The murder of David Cameron Gonzales
In March 2010, 32-year old David Gonzales and some friends had been drinking at the Old Dublin bar, located in the 1900 block of South Victoria Ave. After leaving the bar they attended a house party in the area of Bottlebrush Pl. and South K St. While in the front of the house, the group was confronted by another group of males. A fist fight began. David and several of his friends were stabbed. The suspects fled the area. David was transported to a nearby Oxnard Fire Station in search of medical treatment. David died at the fire station.

OPD Case 10-02207 - The murder of Vicente Arzate
In January 2010, 16-year old Vicente Arzate’s body was found inside of a residence by officers responding to a call in the 700 block of Rialto Street. Vicente had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. While on scene, the officers discovered that two other victims had also been shot, but they were transported to the hospital. They survived their wounds. The three victims had been standing in front of the entryway at a house party when several gunshots were fired through the door. Vicente was a resident of Camarillo.

OPD Case 09-16616- The murder of Benjamin Rojelio
In July 2009, 48-year old Benjamin Rojelio was shot and killed while at the Lucky Cantina bar, located in the 1000 block of South Ventura Rd. Prior to the shooting, Rojelio had accidentally bumped into someone inside the bar. This bump caused an altercation, which spilled out into the bar's parking lot. The shooting occurred in the parking lot. Witnesses described the suspect as fleeing the area on foot.

OPD Case 09-15230- The murder of Melissa Rodriguez
In July 2009, Oxnard Police officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Ironbark Court regarding a traffic collision. When officers arrived, they found a single vehicle collision into a tree. They located 19-year old Melissa Rodriguez in the driver's seat, and Rodriguez's cousin seated in the passenger seat. As officers treated Rodriguez they saw that she had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Rodriguez died as a result of her injury. Detectives learned that Rodriguez and her boyfriend had been involved in a physical fight moments before she drove away. It appeared as of someone shot at Rodriguez's vehicle while she drove down the street.

OPD Case 09-01003 - The murder of Michael Carrillo
In January 2009, Oxnard police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 400 block of Gloria Court. When they arrived, they discovered the body of 18 year old Michael Carrillo lying in a parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

OPD Case 08-29704 - The murder of Jovany Cahuantzi
In November 2008, 19-year old Jovany Cahuantzi heard whistling outside of his residence on Borrego Way so he went outside to see where the sound was coming from. Witnesses inside of the house heard several gunshots and rushed outside to find Cahuantzi suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Jovany Cahuantzi was nice and well-liked by family members and friends. He previously worked as a contractor for a satellite television company.

OPD Case 08-27058- The murder of Victor Navarro
In October 2008, An Oxnard Police officer was in the area of the the St. Mary's Dr. when he heard gunshots. The officer conducted a search of the area to find the source of the gunshots. The officer located two gunshot victims in the 100 block of Stanford Ave. 33-year old Victor Navarro was found to have multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. The second victim had been shot one time, but was conscious. Navarro was transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. The second victim was also treated for his wound, and he survived. Detectives leaned that both men had been seated inside a large pick-up truck at the time of the shooting. The surviving victim was not forthcoming with detectives about the shooting. Victor left behind a 6-year old daughter, who he loved very much.

OPD Case 08-23775- The murder of Rosa Ruiz
In September 2008, 17-year old Luis Ruiz and his mother, 51-year old Rosa Ruiz, were at a residence in the 1800 block of Alexander St. pre-planning a family party. The two of them left the residence and were standing in the front yard of the home. Family members reported hearing 1-2 gunshots. They found both Luis and Rosa shot. Both were transported to the hospital, where they both died. Detectives conducted an investigation in to this case and arrested 20-year old David Landeros as being one of the suspects involved in this double murder. Landeros was later convicted of being involved in these murders and was sentenced to prison. Landeros was not the actual shooter in this case. The shooter in this case is still outstanding.

OPD Case 08-23775- The murder of Luis Ruiz
In September 2008, 17-year old Luis Ruiz and his mother, 51-year old Rosa Ruiz, were at a residence in the 1800 block of Alexander St. pre-planning a family party. The two of them left the residence and were standing in the front yard of the home. Family members reported hearing 1-2 gunshots. They found both Luis and Rosa shot. Both were transported to the hospital, where they both died. Detectives conducted an investigation in to this case and arrested 20-year old David Landeros as being one of the suspects involved in this double murder. Landeros was later convicted of being involved in these murders and was sentenced to prison. Landeros was not the actual shooter in this case. The shooter in this case is still outstanding.

OPD Case 08-17976 - The murder of David Ruelas
In July 2008, Oxnard Police Department officers responded to the 900 block of South "H" Street, where they found 29-year old David Ruelas lying in the roadway. Ruelas had been stabbed multiple times. Ruelas was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. A second subject was also stabbed in this incident, but his wounds were not life threatening.

OPD Case 08-11439- The murder of Christobal Flores
In May 2008, Oxnard Police officers responded to a shooting victim in the 2400 block of El Dorado Ave. Officers found the victim, 21-year old Christobal Flores, laying on the ground near an apartment building. Flores was found to have been shot, and was pronounced deceased. Detectives learned that Flores and another person were standing in the alley to the rear of the apartment buildings, when a white colored vehicle drove by. This vehicle was occupied by several individuals. There was a confrontation between Flores and the occupants of the vehicle. Gunshots were heard in the area, and Flores was found shot by his friend.

OPD Case 08-06825- The murder of Armando Castro
In March 2008, Oxnard Police officers responded to the 1000 block of Lodgewood Way regarding an assault victim. Officers located 39-year old Armando Castro laying in the driveway of a home. Castro was transported to the hospital, where he later died. Detectives learned that there had been a fight involving several subjects at the Circle K market, located near Lodgewood Way. Castro may have been involved in this fight.

OPD Case 07-28721- The murder of Barry Franklin
In November 2007, Oxnard firefighters and ambulance personnel responded to the 2100 block of Curren St. regarding a fall victim. The medical personnel located 48-year old Franklin Barry and learn that he had been stabbed. Barry was transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

OPD Case 07-20227 - The murder of Christian Garcia
In August 2007, Oxnard Police Department officers responded to a call of a shooting victim in the 2000 block of Napoleon Avenue. Upon the officers arrival they located the victim, identified as 18 year old Christian Garcia of Oxnard. Garcia had suffered a gunshot wound. Garcia was transported to Saint Johns Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Detectives were told that Garcia was standing alone in the front yard of his residence when he was shot.
Christian Garcia was the youngest of four children -and that's exactly how he lived his life, a child at heart. He was a huge fan of music, he loved to perform as DJ at friend's and family's get-togethers. Thoughtful and caring, he would do just about anything for anybody; no favor was too big or small. Christian was the father to 2 month old Kristle Garcia and his wedding date was set for September 12th, 2007.

OPD Case 07-20042- The murder of Jose Nuncaz Reyes
In August 2007, Oxnard Police officers responded to a fight in the parking lot of a bar in the 600 block of South Oxnard Blvd. The officers located a large group of individuals, one of which was Jose Reyes. Reyes had been stabbed and was transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. Reyes died 9 days later as a result of complications due to the stabbing.

OPD Case 07-08947- The murder of Jose Erik Esqueda
In April 2007, Jose Esqueda, his wife, and his 3-year old child, were inside their residence, located in the 2400 block of East Pleasant Valley Rd., when they heard a banging noise on this side of their house. A few seconds later, they heard a noise and Jose opened the door to investigate. Upon opening the door, Jose was shot, and he staggered back into the house. Jose was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

OPD Case 06-28434- The murder of Romulo Sanchez
In October 2006, Oxnard Police officers responded to a stabbing victim in the 300 block of East First St. Officers found the victim, Romulo Sanchez, in the area. Sanchez had been stabbed in the chest, so he was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. Investigators believed that Sanchez may have been robbed prior to being stabbed.

OPD Case 06-20739- The murder of Gloria Altamirano
In July 2006, Oxnard Police officers responded to a shots fired call in the 700 block of Cuesta del Mar. Officers located located 22-year old Gloria Altamirano near the front of an apartment building. She had been shot and killed. Investigators determined that just prior to the shooting, a group of males had been standing in front of this same apartment building. An individual approached this group of males and confronted them. This individual produced a firearm and pointed it at the group. The group fled as the suspect fired his weapon at them. It appears as if a stray bullet struck Gloria, killing her. Gloria was not the intended target, but an innocent person who lived in the area.

OPD Case 06-16761- The murder of Adrian Pulido
In June 2006, Oxnard Police officers responded to a home, located in the 1300 block of South E St. regarding subjects at a party armed with firearms. The reporting party also said that a gunshot had been heard. When officers arrived, they saw a large group of people running away from the residence. Officers located 19-year old Adrian Pulido, laying on the driveway of the home. Pulido had suffered a gunshot wound. Pulido was transported to the hospital, where he later died. The party had been held in remembrance of two prior murder victims.

OPD Case 06-16756- The murder of Elizabeth Ayala
In June 2006, Oxnard Police officer were called to the 700 block of W. Channel Islands Blvd. in response to deceased female in an apartment. There was no obvious signs of injury to the deceased, Elizabeth Ayala. During autopsy, internal injuries were found, consistent with violence. Detectives began an investigation. Based on the investigation, it is likely that Elizabeth knew her killer.

OPD Case 06-06785 - The murder of Carlos Prado
In March 2006, 19-year old Carlos Andres Prado was found murdered on the sidewalk of the 3400 block of Jackson Street. There were two bicycles found in the roadway a few feet from Prado's body. Carlos was a resident of Ventura County for more than 17 years. He attended Richard Bard Elementary School, E.O. Green Junior High School and Hueneme High School. Carlos had plans to join the Marines. For his family, his murder has been a constant reminder of his life cut short too soon and of all the dreams he never had a chance to realize. To this day his family continues constant communication with detectives in hopes that justice will soon be served. Carlos was beloved by his family and friends, his death has left an empty space in the hearts of all who love him, an empty space that can never be filled.

OPD Case 05-34376- The murder of Ralph Delacerda
In December 2005, Officers located 55-year old Ralph Delacerda laying in the roadway in the area of the 900 block of West Ninth St. Delacerda had been shot and killed. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots in the area prior to Officers finding Delacerda. Prior to being killed, Delacerda had been at a family member's residence in the 1100 block of West Cedar St.

OPD Case 05-33606- The murder of Elizabeth Renteria
In December 2005, Oxnard Police officers were dispatched to the Los Compadres Bar, located in the 3700 block of Saviers Rd., regarding a call of shots fired. Officers located 22-year old Elizabeth Renteria seated in the front seat of a parked Ford Mustang. Renteria had suffered a gunshot wound to the face. Renteria was transported to the hospital, where she later died. Detectives learned that Renteria and her boyfriend had been seated in the Mustang, when a older model 1980's style van drove towards them. A male passenger in the van confronted the couple in the Mustang, and then fired shots at them from a handgun. Witnesses described the shooter as a male, but the driver of the van was a female.

OPD Case 05-30199- The murder of Gerardo Gomez
In November 2005, 53-year old Gerardo Gomez, was inside the Sunrise Donut shop, in the 1200 block of S. Oxnard Blvd. He had just purchased his morning donut and coffee. Two masked gunmen entered the store and committed a robbery. Gomez tried to calm the situation. One of the robbers shot and killed Gomez.
Gerardo Gomez was a hard working, family man. He left behind a wonderful family that morns his death. The Gomez family maintains contact with investigating detectives and hopes to one day have closure on this case.

OPD Case 05-27704 - The murder of Simon Aristigue
In October 2005, 30 year old resident Simon Aristegui was shot in the 700 block of West Robert Avenue. Nearby officers heard the gunshots and immediately responded to the area to investigate. The officers located Aristegui, who was conscious. Aristegui was transported to the hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. Witnesses reported that Arstegui was involved in a verbal argument with a known subject which took place in the S. alley of the 700 block of W. Robert Ave just prior to the shooting.

OPD Case 05-00002- The murder of Ronnie Perez
In January 2005, 45-year old Ronnie Perez was walking on the sidewalk of South “G” street with his wife. It was about a half hour after midnight and they were on their way to a neighbor’s house to tell them Happy New Year. While they were walking, a car approached the couple and shot Perez in the head. Perez died at the hospital.

OPD Case 04-37183 - The murder of Adrian Burton
In December 2004, Oxnard Police officers responded to the area of the 600 block of West Channel Islands Blvd. in response to a call of a shooting victim. The officers located 33-year old Adrian Burton laying face down on the ground. The officers provided CPR to Adrian, and he was transported to the hospital. Burton died at the hospital. Detectives learned that Burton had been standing on the parking area when a silver or grey colored compact vehicle approached him. It is believed that the shooter was inside of this vehicle.

OPD Case 04-33715 - The murder of Gonzalo Romero
In November 2004, Oxnard Police officers responded to the 200 block of North McKinley Ave. regarding a call of gunshots in the area. Officers found 28-year old Gonzalo Romero suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Romero was transported to the hospital, where he later died. The preliminary investigation showed that Romero had been walking on the sidewalk when he was confronted by several assailants. A fight began, and Gonzalo was shot.

In September 2004, 20-year old Roland Espinoza's body was located laying against a garage in the east alley 600 block of South E St. Espinoza had a gunshot wound. Neighbors reported hearing a single gunshot several hours earlier. Roland had been dropped off in this area a short time before the gunshot was heard.

OPD Case 04-15915 - The murder of Anthony Palomares
In May 2004, officers received a call of shots fired in the 400 block of West Hemlock Street. When they arrived on scene, they noticed through a window that a male was lying on a sofa inside the house. He was unresponsive to their contact efforts and appeared to have a gunshot wound. Once officers forced entry into the house, 45-year old Anthony Palomares was transported to Saint John’s Regional Medical Center where he later passed away. He was home alone at the time of the shooting.
Anthony grew up in Ventura County and enjoyed listening to music. He loved spending time with his daughter and is missed by many family members and friends.

OPD Case 04-15154 - The murder of Jose Rivera
On May 22, 2004, officers responded to the 200 block of East Fifth Street and found 27-year old Jose Rivera lying face down on the sidewalk. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. His shirt had been torn open and a set of keys sat near his body. People at Jose’s home revealed to officers that Jose had left to get something to eat, and that he intended to return home directly after.
