From the Desk of Kyle Jenkins, Esports Director:

I am thrilled to share with you the outstanding achievements and progress made by our esports program at Ohio Wesleyan University during our recently concluded third season. As the Esports Director, I am immensely proud of the hard work and dedication exhibited by our students.

Valorant Team Clinches Conference Title: One of the highlights of our season was the exceptional performance of our Valorant team, who not only demonstrated remarkable skill but also secured the conference title. Under the capable leadership of captains Nic Laurence (Sophomore) and Fahad Hameed (Sophomore), the team exhibited outstanding teamwork and strategic prowess. A special mention goes to standout student Austin Kling (Sophomore), whose individual performances were crucial to the team's success.

League of Legends and Smash Brothers in Conference Playoffs: Our League of Legends and Smash Brothers teams, captained by Joel Zachary (Junior) and Andrew Constable (Sophomore), respectively, delivered commendable performances, making it to the conference playoffs. Although they did not secure a title this season, their tenacity and skill were evident in their journey. Additionally, standout students Matt Rease (Senior) for League of Legends, Ahmed Shaaraoui (Sophomore), and Tyler Williard (Freshman) for Smash Brothers made significant contributions to their respective teams.

Recruitment Success: This season, we successfully recruited 15 new students to join the OWU Esports family, with 10 of them receiving scholarships. This influx of talent not only strengthens our current rosters but also contributes to the overall growth and competitiveness of our program. We are excited to welcome these new members and look forward to their impact on our teams.

Roster Expansion: Our current roster size has expanded to 50 students, reflecting the growing interest and enthusiasm for Esports at Ohio Wesleyan University. This diverse and talented group of individuals forms the backbone of our program, and we are committed to providing them with the resources and support they need to excel in their respective games.

Streaming Suite Completion: I am pleased to announce the successful completion of our state-of-the-art streaming suite. This facility will serve as a hub for content creation, live streaming, and community engagement. It reflects our commitment to fostering a vibrant esports culture on campus and provides our players with the tools they need to showcase their skills to a wider audience.

As we celebrate the accomplishments of Season 3, we also look forward to the future with great anticipation. The foundation we have laid and the lessons we have learned will undoubtedly propel us to even greater heights in the seasons to come.

Thank you for your continued support of OWU Esports. Here's to a bright and successful future!
