Social Influences on the Microbiome of Sailfin Mollies
Ian is majoring in Microbiology, Pre-Dentistry, and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry, serves as the Fish Care Intern in the Hankison lab, where he oversees tank maintenance and monitors fish health. He is collaborating with Drs. Suria and Hankison on preliminary studies exploring the microbiomes of Poecilia latipinna, laying the foundation for his independent research project. A dedicated member of the OWU varsity swim and dive team, Ian balances his rigorous academic and athletic commitments while preparing for a future research career in dentistry and public health, with a special focus on the intersection of microbiology and systemic health.

Matthew is a Computer Science and Zoology double major with a Math minor. He enjoys video games, practices martial arts, plays the violin, and is an Eagle Scout. He is also a rescue diver interested in pursuing diving and marine related research. He is the former president and current recruitment chair for the Ohio Beta chapter of Phi Delta Theta and has been nominated to an IFC executive position on campus.

Doyi is originally from South Korea and is currently majoring in pre-med, genetics, and chemistry, with a minor in theater. She has a strong interest in animals, particularly aquatic life. Beyond academics, she's actively involved in student government and several other clubs, and enjoy staying engaged and connecting with others.
