Reading

In Reading Unit 5, students explore biographies of heroes and how their actions make a difference in their communities. This connects to our unit Sharing the Planet as students learn how people interact with different systems and take responsibility to help others. Through these texts, students see how responsible choices can create positive change in the world.

Writing:

Sharing the Planet

As knowledgeable learners, students use the R.A.C.E.C.E. strategy to organize their ideas, cite evidence, and express their thinking clearly in response to reading.

Math

Module 6 connects to Sharing the Planet as students explore how objects can be grouped and shared equally. By creating equal groups and arrays, students learn about fairness and responsibility when sharing resources. They also see how groups are organized in different ways, helping them understand how systems work and how their choices can impact others.
