Approaches to Learning
Thinking Skills
This unit we are focusing on supporting and guiding students to show the process of their learning. This will be done via thinking skills. Students will begin recording their thinking throughout the unit.
In our upcoming unit we will be diving into an inquiry of “How We Organize Ourselves” This inquiry looks at how everything in our world—people, plants, animals, and the way we do things—is connected!Â
We will explore the systems, structures, and networks that help our community work together and thrive! We have been learning about different community helpers, roles in our communities, and how all members of our communities are essential to making our neighborhoods special!
In our classes, we have been discussing the roles and tools of different members of our neighborhoods and communities. In Kindergarten, we have been learning about Firefighters and Police Officers. We have identified the special tools they use to carry out their jobs properly and different ways that they can assist people.
