A Fistful of Grains Project –On World Food Day, October 16,  SilverOaks School, Whitefield  partnered with Soroptimist International Bangalore (SIB) to work on their Fistful of Grains project . SIB has worked towards achieving the UN's aim for Food Security and reaching the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG # 2) in order to arrive at Zero Hunger. Our students readily carried small bags provided by SIB to put fistfuls of grains in it everyday before they eat their meal to learn empathy in action. Each bag can hold about 2 kgs of grains. The filled bags will be collected on Children’s day -November 14th to be donated to organizations that feed needy children.

We believe it's an easy to do yet very  impactful  project that we would like to continue so that when it comes to food security, we all can play our part to ensure that "no one is left behind"!
