Attendance

Attendance will be taken in the virtual learning environment.

Attendance will be based on students accessing and viewing the attendance folder in Schoology. Within the folder there will be a question that the student must complete and submit. The action of submitting the question will indicate that the student was in attendance for the day. Students can be in attendance for the day at any point that they are able to log into Schoology on that day. Attendance will be monitored by the school on a daily basis.

Example A:

Sally is able to log into Schoology at 9:15 a.m. to view a recorded literacy lesson by her teacher. Before viewing the recording, Sally clicks on the attendance folder located on her class page and completes and submits the brief assignment. Sally is now in attendance for that day.

Example B:

Kim is able to log into Schoology at 5:30 p.m. once returning from her grandparents house. Before viewing the recorded literacy lesson by her teacher, Kim clicks on the attendance folder located on her class page and completes and submits the brief assignment. Kim is now in attendance for that day.

Student Absences During Virtual Learning

If a student is absent on a virtual learning day a parent/guardian still needs to provide the school notice that the child will not be in attendance for that day. We are using the same process that would be used if the students were in the building. In an effort to make the process easy for parents and alleviate phone calls to the elementary school, parents may use the link below to submit absences. You may still call the front office if needed.
