What is a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program?
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is defined as the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program for children who do not yet meet the minimum age criterion for admittance into Kindergarten. Children are eligible for TK, if they reach five years of age between September 2, 2022 -- March 2, 2023 Students who complete the TK program attend Kindergarten the following school year.

The TK Program is offered at select elementary schools throughout the District. Students placed at a site other than their school of residence will return to their school of residence for Kindergarten unless an Intradistrict Transfer is submitted and approved.

Complete a Transitional Kindergarten Placement Request Form to indicate site preferences (return to school or District office)
Lilia Bernardo, from the Teaching and Learning Department, will notify you about the status of your request in the Spring.
Daily Schedule
Daily Schedule
All programs follow the primary (1st - 3rd grades) schedules at the school site. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are a full day with a modified schedule of Wednesdays.
Sample Schedules:
M, T, Th, F 8:00 AM - 1:50 PM & W - 8:00 AM - 12:20 PM
OR
M, T, Th, F 8:30 AM - 2:20 PM & W - 8:00 AM - 12:50 PM
