Starting with my first English and Drama high school teacher position in Bullitt County in 2005, my entire educational career has been in the OVEC region. As a teacher in Oldham County, I founded and co-led the Oldham County Technology Initiative in 2011, and became Nationally Board Certified in 2013. In 2014, I was hired as Shelby County's first Digital Learning Coordinator to guide and launch their 1:1 initiative with Chromebooks; while at Shelby, I was part of the leadership team that developed their Profile of a Graduate, and I created Shelby's digital citizenship program of 65 K-12 lessons that was spotlighted in a 2019 ISTE book. In 2022, I joined OVEC as a Deeper Learning Design Specialist and transitioned to OVEC's Digital Learning Consultant in 2024. I still currently hold an EPSB Rank I Kentucky Professional Certificate for Teaching, Grades 8-12.

I present sessions at national and regional conferences, and often write about education via my blog and other publications. I have also been interviewed by media and institutions throughout my two decade educational journey -- in fact, my first one was for an OVEC newsletter in 2006!

I believe strongly in the power of educational technology when it is used with intentionality and as a means and not an end. I'm also passionate about game-based learning; in 2022, I launched a website of resources on how tabletop role-playing games can be incorporated into schools.
