Joe Boucher

Joe Boucher knew from a young age that he had a passion for all things aquatic. During his time at St. Joseph’s and Carleton University, Joe participated in various aquatic sports and was a member of Carleton’s rowing team in 2003 and 2004.

After graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management, Joe decided to follow his heart and pursue his love of diving. He attended Holland College in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, where he obtained an internationally recognized Commercial Diving Certification. Since graduating, Joe has completed a number of extensive commercial diving contracts across Canada.

In September 2014, after becoming a member of Parks Canada Underwater Archaeology team, Joe played a critical role in one of Canada’s most historical moments. Joe and his exploration team discovered Sir John Franklin’s long lost ship, HMS Erebus. The ship has been lost at sea for more than 170 years and many attempts have been made to find it with no success. Joe and his colleagues were recognized in the House of Commons and received a bipartisan standing ovation from the Members of Parliament.

Joe Boucher credits his education, as the foundation for his success today. He says, “Education is highly regarded in my family. The values instilled in me during my education and upbringing have helped me succeed in my professional life. I owe a lot to all those who had a hand in helping form me into the person I am today.”
