What is ClassLink?
ClassLink provides an easy way for students, teachers, and staff to login into online learning platforms.
ClassLink single sign-on (SSO) allows users to log into applications with the ease of only one username and password. Students and teachers can open their devices, sign into the ClassLink Portal, and click on their connected applications to automatically access the online learning program.

Why are we switching from Clever to ClassLink?

Most importantly, ClassLink provides stronger security. This provides better protection for student and staff privacy, and reduces the risk of data breaches that could take learning tools offline mid-year. ClassLink also provides the ability to sync more quickly between Aeries and other applications, which means less waiting when there are changes to rosters.
Will there still be badges?

In ClassLink, these are called QuickCards. Teachers can access the QuickCards for their own classes. Designated site staff will be able to generate QuickCards sitewide.

It will be similar to the Clever sign-in screen - an option for the Chromebook camera to scan a QuickCard and an option to enter email and password. Student emails and passwords will not change.

All users will have the apps that they are scoped to use. In addition, there will be links to other resources. There are no app categories in ClassLink. Instead, ClassLink uses folders to contain groups of apps. The result will be a much less cluttered interface, with less distractions.
Can teachers create teacher pages for their students?

Yes, these pages are called “My Classes”. There is a page for each class that a teacher teaches. Teachers can add custom links to their pages. At the moment, teachers cannot upload their own icons for their custom links, but there is a much larger library of pre-made icons in ClassLink.

While there is no quick method to transferring teacher page resources, Clever will still be available throughout the 2026-27 school year so that you can grab links and rebuild your resources in ClassLink.

It's the beginning of the the school year - why are many apps not working? Why don't I see my new students?
It's the beginning of the the school year - why are many apps not working? Why don't I see my new students?
Right before the beginning of school, the ability to use ClassLink with applications will be limited while we prepare for the new school year. Your ClassLink Launchpad will be populated with more working applications as we get closer to the first day of school. Classroom teachers should have their Aeries rosters in ClassLink by the first day of school. New teachers may not be able to access ClassLink until they are fully onboarded. Teachers without rostered classes in Aeries (i.e. RSP, intervention, or prep teachers) may need special setup. For support, or issues with ClassLink login, please submit a helpdesk ticket with the OUSD Instructional Technology team.
