LIT Center Mural

In 2016, McClymonds HS Facilities Committee chose Mr. Daniel Galvez, world renowned muralist, to commission the creation of a new Mural in the newly renovated Library Innovation Technology (LIT) Center. Mr. Galvez facilitated 6 workshops with a student, staff and community team to create a theme and vision encapsulating the spirit and legacy of McClymonds and West Oakland. They came up with Past, Present and Future as a theme and includes past alumni such as Mr. Bill Russell and Mr. Curt Flood and influential West Oakland leaders such as Ms. Angela Davis, Mr. Huey P. Newton, Former Councilwoman Lynette Gibson McElhaney, KW and Malcolm X.
