The McClymonds Library Innovation Technology Center Policies
The LIT Center Policy is for all staff, scholars and community members.
Please help us keep the LIT Center a superb place to read and study by observing these guidelines.
FOOD & DRINK
No Food or Drinks in the Library Commons, Mack Mackerspace and Africana Center spaces.
Food and drinks are welcome in the Mack Cafe
RESPECT the SPACE
Treat the space as you would your grandmother’s house.
Treat the books as you would your cell phone.
Be respectful of all library users.
The furniture is designed to personalize your individual or group space. Please return it to its original space before your departure.
Clean up after yourself. Garbage cans are located by the exit doors and in the Mack Cafe.
CELL PHONE USAGE
We encourage scholars and staff to use the cell phone charging stations to charge your phones.
Please put cell phones away during academic classroom visits.
During open hours you are welcome to use your cell phones with these guidelines:
Silence cell phones.
Take calls outside.
Headsets please
PRINTER & COMPUTER USE
Login into computer stations with your OUSD email login. Be sure to log out when you are done.
Please be mindful of numbers of printed pages
BOOKS CHECKOUT & INFORMATION
What you read and check out is your business and we respect your privacy in alignment with the Library Bill of Rights. This means:
We will never share what book you have checked out with anyone
You have a right to explore your own interests in the Library, and we will keep your inquiries confidential.
Books may be checked out for two weeks and may be renewed unless the book has been placed on hold by another student.
FEES & FINES
There are no fees for overdue books. Please renew your books in case another student has it on hold and to keep track of your books.
At the end of each marking period, students who have not returned library materials will receive a notice. If you receive a notice, please see the teacher in the Library during open hours to return materials and to clear your records.
If the book is damaged, bring it to the Librarian in case we can repair it and not charge the full fine.
If the book is lost, please let the LIbrarian know so we can replace the copy.
