Litter has been a threat to the environment since the beginning of plastic. It has become a new normal ever since the industry has begun to make people neglect this issue.

Marine animals have suffered perilous health issues for a while. We have been so careless but to dispose of plastic in very selfish ways. Plastic bags have suffocated, choked, and even starved. Plus, our health is in danger if that's not enough. When a plastic bag finds itself lying in the ocean, it resembles a jellyfish to many marine animals. As jellyfish are a primary food source for a majority of these creatures, they are duped into feasting on the plastic bags, which then enters their digestive system. Since plastic is not biodegradable, it again tricks the animal's mind into believing it is food so it stays in their stomach for a while, until the creature starves to death or dies from not getting the nutrients they need, or even choking.

This also affects humans and our health! To elaborate, plastics release many chemicals into the environment such as BPAs. Which are intoxicating to the environment and lung health. Also, as they roll around in feces, mud, and plants, pieces of litter carry disease that are violent toward our immune system, getting people sick. Lastly, though plastic itself is 'immortal', the chemicals packed into it can be decayed. When these chemicals decay, they become carcinogens (cancer causing). When breathed in, they are not the most necessarily healthy thing to inhale.
