Artist Statement

Through my artwork, I aim to inform others about the cruelty of the factory farming practice and how consumer culture - the idea that one’s self worth is determined by the amount of material goods they buy/consume - perpetuates and contributes to these inhumane conditions. By using more imaginative interpretations of factory farming, my art seeks to provoke thought amongst my audience, challenging their preconceived notions about our agricultural system. Contrasts between bright and more subdued colors highlight negativites surrounding the treatment of livestock. Though gruesome at some points, I hope my artwork is able to adequately capture some of the horrors surrounding our modern food system.
