Meet the team

Jade Champagnie

Director & Club Manager

Jade grew up in a childminding home from birth. Working with children and families has always been a big part of her life. Between 2011 and 2016 she worked with a social integration charity called The Challenge who delivered the National Citizen Service (NCS) youth programme. She had various roles within the company both office and programme based. Some of her favourite roles included being a ‘Senior Mentor’ and ‘Programme Leader’ which included taking a group of 64 young people (aged 15-17) through a social action project over summer and autumn half terms.

Since leaving the charity in 2016, Jade went into childminding as well as ad hoc respite and care work. As her passion for the profession grew she has since completed two Level 3 qualifications. Early Years Educator and Forest School Leader. She has a passion for the SEND community and has supported many children and adults with additional needs. This has varied from non verbal Autistic children to adults with Down's Syndrome.

Before the lockdown, Jade looked at expanding her childcare business to meet the demands of the care which were rapidly outgrowing her home. In 2021 she launched wraparound care services at Elmhurst School under the name we know today OurSpace Childcare. Here the children have benefited from a bespoke breakfast and after school club service. The vision for 2022 was to still keep providing bespoke childcare services but again on a little bigger scale. By April 2022, Jade launched holiday clubs for the wider Aylesbury community to meet the demands of care requested over the school holidays from her regular families who use her service.

Jade is super proud about following her passion and working with children within an inclusive setting. OurSpace Childcare aims to be as inclusive as it can be as long as it is deemed safe to do so. Jade believes no child should ever feel excluded due to their capabilities but should feel part of a community surrounded by people ready to nurture and love them.

Laura Uchuno

Administrator and Playworker

Laura is Queen of all things administration! She joined the team in Summer 2022 to help streamline all of the administration tasks and to ensure communications with families could get done on time.

Laura is super nurturing, kind and caring and is always ready to get stuck in. She has two children of her own who have attended the club and who now volunteer their time during the holidays! We really enjoy having Laura as part of the team and the children thoroughly enjoy seeing her crazy side.

Roxana Resmerita

Playworker

Roxana is a devoted mother to two lovely boys. She has a passion for working with children and started her journey in childcare with the OurSpace team via volunteering in September 2021. She says: ‘All children deserve a good start in life and to be helped through play. Children are wonderful. Seeing them grow, play and reach their full potential can bring joy beyond words. Working in childcare gives you the opportunity to continue your CPD as well as learning lots through the children we work with on a daily basis.’
