Maybe you are not experiencing food insecurity personally but you want to help the people who are.
Here are some of the many ways you can help out people in need!
Volunteering
You can volunteer at places such as:
South Coast: Visit the Volunteer South Coast Page.
United Way: Visit United Way Partner Page.
YMCA: Visit Ymca Sharing the Harvest.
Donations
Although any donation is greatly appreciated, donating money is more helpful because:
Organizations can buy in bulk
It allows them to meet immediate needs of the community
It increases efficiency when providing for families
Knowing your Sources
Knowledge is power! You can use your brain to positively affect others by:
Informing others how to overcome their predicament
Guiding them to helpful resources
Directing them to helpful locations (food pantries and food assistance companies)
Hosting
Take initiative by hosting or creating:
A food drive
An informational video
Feedback
You can give feedback by:
Filling out feedback forms after events or for organizations
Writing Google reviews
Voice your concerns or appreciations
