Welcome to Our Progress Page
This is where we share our journey—openly and honestly. You'll find updates on where we are, where we're heading, and the challenges we’ve faced along the way. Transparency is key to building trust, and here, we’ll celebrate our successes, reflect on our failures, and keep you informed about the evolution of HI. This isn’t just about us—it’s about growing together, one step at a time.
01-04-25: Started "Our Progress" page. This is where I'll post daily updates, news, failures, and successes. For instance, yesturday I tried to tell and offer a pastor of a church group what HI was all about. She wouldn't even here what I had to say. But I'm still hear, I'll never give up, and I got some really good ideas while at the above service on how to do a live seminar, even though imperfect. That's what HI is all about, running into barriers and overcoming them. Thanks for being part of the initiative. Decided that I would create an auto-biography with images about my journey and how I got to this point and beyond. Once finished I will convert it to an audio book as well.
07/31/25 - Finished "The Quiet Refusal". Set up the initial posts. Paused the GO FUND ME campaign as my SS# is comprimised. More info to come.
08/23/25 - It's been a work in progress. The Quiet Refusal is added to the HI website. Opened a second Go Fund Me for my personal use in sustaining myself in the current system. This effectively separates the funds I use for the funds HI uses to build regenerative systems. Thank you for your support!
08/26/26 - Tiding up some loose ends. Preparing for video launch tomorrow at 1200. The countdown has begun.
09-01-25 - Release of our youtube video
09-03-25 - New poll question: "Add Your Voice"
09-09-25 - Even in the storm, light breaks through.
This week HI is keeping it simple: sharing the vision, inviting others into the conversation, and remembering that what looks like chaos can also be illumination.
Our latest posts on Facebook and X use a lightning storm over Moab as a reminder that clarity often arrives in the middle of disruption.
HI is not about shouting louder — it’s about tugging gently, offering another way, and building community piece by piece.
Be part of the conversation. Despite the chaos — we win.
09-15-25 - ✨ Small Wins, Big Gratitude ✨
These past weeks have reminded me that when you give, you also receive.
I’ve been blessed to spend time:
Helping in a community garden 🌿
Serving at the church pantry & soup kitchen 🍲
Supporting local centers however I can 🙌
And in return, I’ve received a multitude of unexpected gifts:
$125 in vouchers from a local group
$30 from kind strangers
A canopy frame (found in the trash!) that I can patch with a tarp
Coffee mugs I was able to pass along
A free burner from the thrift store → hot meals again!
Each piece feels like a step forward. I’m deeply grateful to this community for opening its arms. 💛 It’s not all easy — my vehicle (and home) now has rear brakes grinding metal-on-metal. Safety and stability remain a real need. But I share this not to complain — only to show the reality: by giving back, I’ve received even more than I imagined.
🙏 Despite the chaos — We win ⚡

Lemon, the little fighter
I’ve been spending time with Lemon at the animal shelter. She’s in quarantine while waiting for confirmation about feline leukemia, but she’s gaining weight and showing real strength. No matter the outcome, she matters, and every moment with her is a reminder of resilience.
Recently I received a $15 gift card. Small on paper, but huge in impact. It covered gas, essentials, and gave me breathing room. Kindness like this keeps me moving forward.
I helped unload food at the church pantry and shared time in community with others. Even when life feels heavy, showing up to serve lightens the load and reminds me that giving always returns in unexpected ways.
Today brought unexpected challenges, but also powerful reminders of what it means to lean on one another. While volunteering at the food drive, my vehicle’s alternator gave out. Thanks to the generosity of a church member who covered the cost of both the alternator and brake pads, and the patience of the staff at the parts store, I was able to get back on the road.
Moments like these show us that progress doesn’t always come from our own efforts alone—it’s built through the kindness, support, and shared strength of the community around us.
The Horizon Initiative continues to grow step by step, fueled by service, gratitude, and the belief that together we can create something greater than ourselves.
Progress Update – September 25, 2025
Every step forward matters. In the past week, we’ve:
Fixed critical issues with my vehicle so I can keep moving forward.
Earned support from local organizations and friends who helped with essentials like brakes, a new battery, and even a small gift card.
Created free image downloads to inspire and share creativity with everyone.
Taken the first steps toward launching guided photography tours as a way to fund Horizon Initiative.
It hasn’t been easy, but HI was never about easy—it’s about persistence, creativity, and building something new together. Thank you for being part of this journey. More to come soon.
09-26-25 - Description:
A question that keeps me up at night: Why are we all so distracted? Maybe it’s not just in our heads — maybe it’s a mix of physical and mental weight that keeps us from focusing on what really matters. This isn’t about blame, it’s about awareness. Because once we see it, we can change it.
Update – September 26, 2025
Every small step keeps the Horizon Initiative moving forward. Today we made progress by selling prints of my photography — raising $15 that will go directly toward stability and continuing the growth of HI.
Alongside this, I’ve been volunteering in the community, showing up where help is needed, and applying for funding to launch a photography tour business. This tour project will be a sustainable source of income — not just for me, but also to help fuel and expand the Horizon Initiative.
We also linked our new YouTube short to the site. You can click on the button to the left. Opening another way for people to engage with our message and mission.
Momentum is building. With each connection, act of support, and contribution, we are one step closer to making this vision real.
✊ Onward.
09-29-25 - Update
📢 Quick Update from HI
We’re building momentum! The Horizon Initiative is growing — and now we have a community space for everyone to connect, share ideas, and collaborate.

Let’s work together to shape a better future. 🌍✨
Last night, a full moon rose over the La Sal mountains, with Moab cradled quietly in the valley below.
For us, this isn’t just a picture — it’s a reminder. The moon begins its cycle unseen, not rushing to be full. Darkness is not the end, but the beginning.
That’s the rhythm Horizon Initiative is tapping into. Where the Gregorian calendar gave us a rigid structure, older systems like the Enoch calendar kept us in step with the cycles of nature. They saw time as living and spiraling — not straight, not mechanical.
In the same way, HI is more than a project. It’s about remembering: renewal, rhythm, and the power of cycles. 🌍✨

Today was full of motion, both personal and for HI:
Applied for a government phone and reached out to a primary care provider.
Volunteered at the animal shelter 🐾 (Shyla has a new leash now).
Applied to two jobs, pushing forward with stability.
Big win: Our community polls are now fully transparent — results are visible right after you vote ✅.
Coming up: Preparing the proposal for the revolving loan program to launch the touring business and gathering this Thursday (Oct 9, Swanny Park, 4 PM → dark).
Thank you for standing with me. Every step we take keeps the vision alive. 🌿
