Guided by experts, we'll marvel at celestial beauty in a distinctive setting: the world's driest desert, offering an exceptional star-studded sky due to its clear air. Merging traditional scientific astronomy with the Andean perspective, we'll delve into how the latter shaped the daily lives of agro-pastoral communities, manifesting within their culture.
To ensure an authentic encounter, we'll convene around a fire akin to ancient times, exchanging insights on the interplay between space and earth through fire and smoke—elements entwined in rituals and the agricultural calendar. We'll also partake in an astronomy talk "with the naked eye," using a laser to pinpoint stars, planets, and constellations in accordance with the season while also delving into the study of stars, their evolution, and movement. Enhancing the experience, a contemporary telescope will allow us to explore the night sky in intricate detail.
