Gartocharn Early Learning & Childcare Centre

Our ELCC is registered to accommodate 30 children per day. We offer breakfast snack, a two course lunch from the school and an afternoon snack. We are operating this year 8.30am until 4pm 4 days a week for entitlement, children attend 4 days out of 5 each week. The nursery environment is ever changing, and is observed and evaluated taking into account children’s ages and stage of development and interests. This year we have a sensory room, a food tech, writing and home area, a construction, malleable and small world area including ICT and an outdoor area which is accesses through free play.

Each day children have a focus learning time in the morning with their keyworker to cover specific targeted and planned experiences. All areas within the nursery and experiences offered in them are cross curricular to ensure a holistic curriculum. The curriculum we offer is based around Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence and Pre-birth to Three. As a Campus we regularly take advantage to work together and provide opportunities for the nursery children to work and learn alongside the school children to grow our community and connectedness.
