Have a look at what has been happening in RME!

Sponsored Fast

This May S1 pupils took part in a sponsored fast and managed to raise a fantastic £320, which were donated to 'Save the Children Fund'.

Pupils did not eat anything between 9am and 3pm - what an outstanding demonstration of their resilience and determination, all done for a really worthy cause - the money raised should feed about 32 families of four for a couple of weeks in a developing country.

S2 Trip

12 pupils were invited to take part in a visit to the places of religious interest in Glasgow. This trip was a reward to recognise the hard work of pupils who have produced truly excellent RME projects earlier in the year.

Pupils have visited Sikh Gurudwara, St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art and Kelvingrove Art Gallery, where pupils took part in a treasure hunt and there were prizes to be won!

A visit to Samye Ling

Did you know that nestled in the traditional Scottish landscape you could find brightly coloured Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags peacefully fluttering in the wind?

You could travel to Northern India or China to see the sights of monks wearing red robes, impressive tankhas and stupas, but you can also have a glimpse of this very different culture and find out about Buddhist way of life in just 2 hours away from Clydebank.

This October senior pupils have traveled to a Tibetan Monastery in Dumfries, a peaceful and secluded home to Buddhist monks and nuns. Pupils had a chance to participate in a guided meditation session, witness traditional Tibetan chanting and had an option of having freshly cooked vegetarian lunch - something different to tickle their taste-buds. The architecture of various buildings was nothing short of spectacular!
