School Uniform
School Uniform
Given that there is substantial parental and public approval of uniform, schools in West Dunbartonshire Council strongly encourage the wearing of school uniform. The wearing of school uniform helps promote the identity of the school in the local community and helps create an ethos of sharing and pride in the school.
There are forms of dress which are unacceptable in school, such as items of clothing which:
potentially encourage faction (such as football colours)
could cause offence (such as anti-religious symbolism or political slogans)
could cause health and safety difficulties (such as loose fitting clothing or body piercings/jewellery for PE and sport)
are made from flammable material (for example: shell suits in practical classes)
could cause damage to flooring
carry advertising, particularly for alcohol or tobacco
could be used to inflict damage on other pupils or be used by others to do so.
Our formal uniform is white shirt and school tie. Red sweatshirts and red or white polo shirts with our logo, which are less formal but very smart, grey trousers/skirt is worn to complete the outfit. Football colours are not permitted. You can order items of uniform from the School Wear Made Easy website by clicking on the link: www.schoolwearmadeeasy.com School ties and blazer badges are available to collect from the school office, paid for by using ParentPay. Please telephone the school office for any further enquiries at 01389773972.
Some pupils may be eligible for a clothing grant. Parents can ask at the school office or they can access information on the council website:
