School Community

Fairtrade

Our school is a Fairtrade school and we are committed to raising awareness of what Fairtrade is and the difference it can make. Fairtrade is helping to ensure farmers, workers and communities are paid a fair price for their produce. It also helps to ensure working conditions are improved as well as facilitating sustainable development.

Throughout the year the Pupil Council will be responsible for running events to raise awareness of Fairtrade. It's only fair that the people who produce what we eat, wear and use, should get paid enough to live on and have the chance to improve their lives.

Rights Respecting Schools

At Bonhill Primary we continually strive to help every child to realise all their rights. All pupils are encouraged to try to respect the rights of all children in the world by thinking about their own behaviour and actions and how they affect others. We were delighted to receive our RRSA Level 1 award in 2014. Assessors come to the school to speak to children and staff about the impact that our work on rights was having within the school environment. They were very happy with the work that had been done, and as a result we were given our Level 1 award. Well done to everyone!

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is every morning from 8.15am - 8.50am . The children can have toast, cereal and juice. The cost for this is 86p and you can apply for this by getting a form from the school office.

Credit Union

Bonhill Super Savers are open for deposits every Friday at 9.30 am.  We are part of Dalmuir Credit Union. Ms Smith and Miss Rae works with our Primary 7 cashiers and tellers to organise deposits.
