Girls Financial Literacy Camp (2026)
Our special guest, Maribel Wenzinger, shared her experience in Finance with 8th and 7th-grade girls, who learned to balance a budget, set SMART goals, write a check, explore careers in the field, develop healthy spending habits, and learned more about their aspirations and strengths while creating a vision board.
This program was created to eliminate the lack of exposure to finance and economic concepts in our youth. By engaging our young girls and introducing them to smart money management practices, we are setting them up for financial growth and upward mobility.
Community Mural (2025)
We are proud to have served as the fiscal sponsor of an inclusive community mural that welcomes residents and visitors to Evergreen. With community input and high school students' vision from our three local high schools (with support from The City Peace Project), a mural was created and painted on Tully Rd depicting the many cultures, ethnicities, ages, families, and abilities that make our area so unique. Check out video of the mural here!
Thanks to artist Mattea Muzzy, the East San Jose/Foothills area now has a beautiful welcome sign showcasing the neighborhood's diversity, natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage. This mural is not only a beautiful sight but has also helped neighbors reclaim a blighted intersection that was plagued by illegal dumping, graffiti, and litter. This mural enhanced the physical area and strengthened pride and community engagement. We could not be any prouder!
Nature Paint & BioBlitz Events (2024-2025)
Our City hosted two free community nature paint events in public parks to promote the love of art and its mental benefits, focus on the beautiful open spaces and their value to the community, and provide an educational component on the ecology and sustainability of parks.
Thanks to Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful, we were able to include a family-friendly BioBlitz component to these events, helping participants to connect and value our natural environments from plants, to insects, and wildlife.
