My goal as a special education teacher is to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom where every student feels valued, respected, and capable of learning. This year, I want to embrace the theme “Every Student, Every Opportunity, Every Day.” Every Student means recognizing and supporting the unique strengths, interests, and needs of every child who walks through our doors. Every Opportunity means creating meaningful experiences that allow students to learn, explore, create, collaborate, and discover their talents. Every Day reminds us that the small moments matter. My goal is to help students grow academically while also building their confidence, independence, and love of learning. I will make sure that each child has meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. I will meet students at their individual levels, build on their strengths, and provide the support, accommodations, and encouragement they need to reach their potential.
I am also excited to use the CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts) program to strengthen students’ reading, writing, vocabulary, and background knowledge. Through engaging texts, discussions, and differentiated instruction, I hope to help students become stronger and more confident readers and writers. In EnVision Mathematics, I will focus on building strong foundational math skills, problem-solving strategies, and mathematical reasoning while providing hands-on learning and individualized support. By using both programs effectively and meeting students where they are, I hope to create opportunities for every student to make meaningful progress every day.
