Nau mai, haeri mai
Welcome to the Otaki College, Year 10 Social Studies website.
Yr 10 Social Studies explore the broad Social Science concepts of Change, Social Justice and Perspectives. Social Justice promotes societies that are just in their treatment of individuals and communities on the belief that all people's human dignity should be protected. Akōnga will build on their prior knowledge of how societies work and how people can participate as critical, active, informed, and responsible citizens. The course is structured around the New Zealand Curriculum Achievement Objectives and include the Aotearoa New Zealand histories framework objectives. Contexts are drawn from the past, present, and future and from places within and beyond New Zealand.
