You are probably thinking, 'There's nothing wrong with my pedagogical practice.' You may be right about that. It's not about throwing out what we already know; it's about putting a new lens of depth over many of the effective traditional pedagogies that remain essential for Deep Learning.
The emphasis is on providing rich units of learning with time to develop the competencies as well as meeting the curriculum learning objectives using the pedagogies which best fit your curriculum area and student needs. This may mean utilising models like inquiry, problem or project-based learning and cross-curricular studies, but it won't always do so. You are encouraged to include your students in planning and give them choice in and responsibility for their own learning.
