Fisher Lab

@ SUNY Oswego
The Fisher Lab at SUNY Oswego focuses on the ecology and evolution of yeasts. Despite their prominence as genetic models in the lab, we are just beginning to understand the distribution of yeasts in the environment and their ecological roles. Projects in the Fisher lab focus on alternative carbon metabolism in highly fermentative yeasts, mechanisms of long-range yeast dispersal, and selective pressures faced by yeasts in wetland soils. We approach these questions using a mixture of wet-lab and computational approaches.
