Unit 1: Internet Safety

Our first unit is Internet safety! Students are introduced to the benefits of sharing information online and the potential risks of sharing inappropriate information.

Essential Question: How should you handle inappropriate online talk?

By the end of the unit students will be able to...

• Identify benefits of sharing information online.

• Reflect on the risks of sharing inappropriate information (oversharing) online.

• Think critically about what they choose to post and share about themselves online.

Unit 2 : CoderZ

Our second unit is CoderZ! Students will be introduced to integrated 3D simulations of educational robots within simulation scenes. Students can write, test and evaluate their code while solving problems from the real world.

By the end of the unit students will be able to...

• Complete mission based challenges.

• Generate code for robotics.

Unit 3 : HTML

Our third unit is HTML! Students will be introduced to HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) which is the standard markup language for creating web pages and web applications through code.

By the end of the unit students will be able to...

• Design a website using HTML.

• Identify html tags.

Unit 4: Sketchup

Our fourth unit is Sketchup! Students will be introduced to SketchUp, a 3D modeling computer program with a wide range of drawing applications.

By the end of the unit students will be able to...

• Create projects to address specific design objectives.

• Apply math skills to dimension architecture projects.
