SUMMER READING PROJECT
In ELA, we want to inspire VOLUME of reading, allow for choice, and to hold students accountable in a fun way. Our goal is for ALL STUDENTS to read a MINIMUM of 5 “just right” books this summer! It is important to note that there is no summer reading packet to complete this summer! Please CLICK HERE for the project description and goal setting sheet. Students will still be accountable for their reading either online, or in writing, after they complete each book. A Book Completion Form can be found online at this LINK, or in paper format downloaded from this LINK. As an extra incentive, please be aware that the middle school has chosen “A Wrinkle In Time,” by Madeleine L'Engle, as our Community Read. If students choose to read this book as one of their 5 or more books, they will be invited to a special celebration to discuss the book this fall.
SUMMER MATH PROJECT
In math, we want students to practice their math skills at least once a week, and hopefully more. In sixth grade, students will be asked to complete a minimum of 8 hours of work on SumDog, an online math game that reinforces students’ math skills. Please CLICK HERE for the link to this project. In seventh and eighth grades, students will be asked to complete 8 assignments from ProblemAttic through our Google Classroom platform. CLICK HERE for the directions.
