Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This is a good day to watch a book about catching Leprechauns! Have a talk about what they are first, watch the story and then ask a few questions.

Ask about what happened (story sequence) and then ask how would they try to catch a Leprechaun? What could you make at home to try and catch one if he comes by? If you make a trap at home, send me a picture and I'll share it on here. Keep in mind that if you include a picture of your child, it will also be online. This site is not password protected, so anyone can see it.

Here are couple good sites for having fun but also getting practice with skills.

The kids have used Starfall in class so they have some familiarity with it. It has a good range of age appropriate things to do.

Mystery Science is a really good science website that schools use. It is designed with the newest standards in mind. During this time, they are making a lot of their content available for free. Go to the site and sign up for the free parent material. It's good to watch together and then talk about the lesson. There will also be pauses in the presentations to discuss things.
