Elephant and Piggie!

Mo Willems has written lots of fun stories about Elephant and Piggie. Today's story is about patience. And how hard it can be!

Make sure to stop before the end of the video and ask what in the world the surprise could be!

And Now... Drawing Time!

And now the author will show you how to draw Elephant. And do a few other fun things along the way. As always, if your student does the drawing, send me a picture to put up!

Mo Willems is both author and illustrator. Ask your child what those things mean.

Some new links for things to do...

Epic Books is a great site. Lots of books to read, some books will read themselves to you and there are videos available. You can sort the books by subject and age. They are making this available free for the rest of this school year. To get in, go to the link below and enter the code:

Parents, I have sent everyone an invitation to start your Epic account. Check your email and you can get started on Epic. Your student will find their name and start using it. Especially at first, work on it together. I don't believe you have to give them an email address, but I'm not sure. Please let me know if there are any problems so I can pass it along to everyone.

Khan Academy has a lot of good resources and lessons. This link takes you to some math activities. You may need to click around these with your student to make sure they are not overwhelmed. There is some good and our age appropriate stuff, but some of the material is beyond our ages. Look and see what you can find!

What Else Ya Got?

Some people have asked for some of the same kinds of things that we do in class... sheets to print and let the kids practice sorting, coloring and cutting among others.

An interesting place to find some good free stuff is Teachers Pay Teachers online.

Here's a link to the site with things sorted by grade level (Pre K and K) and free. You my have to register or create an account, but these are all free materials for you to check out and use what you like.

Another interesting place for free worksheets is... Google. Do a search for Free Worksheets for Preschool and a lot of things will come up. You will have to poke around and see what looks interesting and decide is it really free and useful, but this gives you a great place to find things. And if you find a really good source, let me know and I can relay it to everyone!
