At OUSD we strive to ensure meaningful communication with families in our school district who have a limited ability to read, speak, write or understand English. “Language access” means providing effective language assistance to parents/guardians/caregivers who are Limited English Proficient (LEP) to help us communicate and allow equitable access to the same information and opportunities as individuals who are fluent in English.
Consider your LEP audience as you begin to plan your event, meeting, or message.
