Everyone uses Synergy, but this session will help make that experience more productive. We'll review basics (beginner level) but also go into some details on how you can be more informative to students and parents with some additional features being used (intermediate level). Some might think this session is too basic, but others will find it helps their prep/grading time so they can be freed up to do more in the classroom. This session is 0% student engagement and 100% teachers being more efficient with Synergy so they have time to plan more engaging activities.
Presenter: Rod Williams
As educators, we often find ourselves in need of a few "extra" tools to achieve our goals, especially when it comes to engaging ALL learners. Sometimes we need a different way to present the information, or something for accelerated learners to work on independently, maybe we need a stand-alone piece that a student can use to prepare for that retake opportunity. These concerns can all be addressed relatively quickly with some easy-to-navigate tech tools. In this session, we will explore Quizizz, Wizer.me, Edpuzzle, and Lumio as tech-based options for expanding the teacher toolbox. There will also be an opportunity to create one or more of these for yourself.
Presenter: Candace Zugner

You will be able to walk away from this session with tips, tricks, and a plan to move forward with your Google Classroom.

Gifted students want to find value or reason to come to the classroom beyond learning facts and memorizing information. Making learning relevant and meaningful for gifted kids in our classrooms involves stepping into their digital world. Technology can increase their possibilities for research, engagement, and collaboration with others, including academic leaders in a particular field. Using technology in the classroom makes differentiating easier. In this session, we will discuss your changing role as an educator in this age of technology and how it impacts learning and assessment. You will leave with a list of online resources and a variety of ways to use technology to differentiate for your TAG students.
