Students who enroll in another class will be dropped from ASL. Students must use the class period to work on their online ASL instruction and assignments and attend all scheduled video conferences. In addition, the Class Facilitator must be in class daily to provide classroom management and support.

Access to Schoology (students will be given access to Schoology via an OSD account)

YouTube Access: Instructional videos are categorized as 'educational' and hosted on YouTube. If needed, the IT department may be asked to unblock YouTube access

E-mail access with outside affiliations. If needed, the IT department may be asked to add access to the OSD email domain
MS Word and PowerPoint or Google Docs and Slides to submit written work
Ability to change share settings to "Anyone with the link" when using Google to submit assignments
Access to Google for instructional materials
DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS:
Onsite Classroom Management Requirement:
A person from your school designated as the 'ASL Class Facilitator' MUST be assigned to supervise the students onsite each day. This person will also communicate with and assist the OSD ASL instructor with the local onsite classroom management tasks and will work as a liaison between the ASL instructor and your school, including students, administration, and parents.
Textbook(s) Requirement:
Participating schools are required to purchase the required textbooks for ASL 1 and 2, at least one book per student for each class. You may opt for ASL 1 and 2 students to share books in order to keep them in the building, or you may opt to allow each student to have their own book. ASL 1 and ASL 2 students use the Master ASL! textbook with the accompanying DVD, and the blue student companion Master ASL!: Fingerspelling, Numbers, & Glossing workbook. ASL 3 and ASL 4 students do not need to purchase any textbooks.
The cost of one set of the Master ASL! textbook & Student Companion Workbook is $119. They can be purchased directly from the publisher at their website http://www.masterasl.com/ . It is advised to not wait until the fall to purchase because they can sell out fast.
