The Statewide Services & Outreach department with the Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services (ODBES) has been providing ASL classes to schools throughout the State of Ohio since 2001. Our classes are rigorous and comprehensive, meeting the State of Ohio Academic Standards for World Languages. Our classes are provided in an online format, using Schoology and the Zoom video conferencing software. Students meet with their instructor via video conferencing two days a week and work asynchronously on video recordings and independent assignments the remaining three days each week. Weekly vocabulary instructional videos, expressive and receptive learning activities, and assignments are accessible to students via the Schoology Learning Management System (LMS).
