LESSON SCHEDULE CHANGES:
Only 7th and 8th grade students who are participating in Solo & Ensemble will have lessons beginning Monday, January 6 through Thursday, February 13. 7th and 8th grade students who are NOT participating in S&E will not have lessons until after that period of time. Because of the wacky schedule, no 7th and 8th grade lessons will be put in the grade book for Hex 3.
6th grade lessons have changed slightly but every 6th grader still has a scheduled lesson time each week. The make up policy remains the same and they will have 3 lessons in the grade book for Hex 3.
About lessons at OMS:
All students grades 6-8 are scheduled for a lesson every week. Most are in small groups of like instruments. Students are responsible for knowing when their lesson is and being there. Schedules are posted in the band room and in each grade level hallway.
Missed lesson?
A designated number of lessons will go into the grade book for each hex, depending on how the school schedule with in-service or vacation days corresponds to our weekly schedule. If a student misses a lesson for whatever reason, they can make it up during Friday recess of that week.
What do we work on in lessons?
Lessons are a time to work on whatever students need. It can be for help with band music, sections from the lesson book, or Solo & Ensemble music (7th and 8th grades).
