Our team consists of six development groups: Software, Business, Mechanical & Fabrication, Electrical, Supply & Pit, and Modeling. In the off-season, team members have the opportunity to explore each development group. Once they receive training in their content area, they are deployed into development groups for the build season.
Modeled after Scrum Project Management, each group is directed by a Scrum Master and a Product Manager who oversee the progress of the projects in their section. Their work is tracked and directed by a Scrum task board that documents active, completed, and backlogged tasks.
Alongside their focused leadership development, each Scrum Master and Product Manager receives training in their content area to help drive the improvement and success of their group. Each team leader reports to two Team Captains who work in tandem with our coaches to guide and advance the team.
The team captains work to ensure every member has a role, remains on task, and works to their full potential. They partner with the department leads, coaches, mentors and sponsors to coordinate the growth of the team.
Builds and tests all components of the robot. Focused skill development includes:

Operating the CNC router.
Utilizing power tools in our shop spaces.
Assembling the robot.
Creates and maintains the entirety of the control system. Focused skill development includes:
Completing wiring.
Operating sensors.
Attention to detail.
Organizes outreach, marketing, and events. Focused skill development includes:
Business communications.
Event planning.
Fundraising and relationship building.
Design and model all mechanisms and components of the robot. Focused skill development includes:
CAD modeling.
Operating laser cutters.
3D printing prototypes and final components.
Modeling practice field.
Programming and coding the operations of the robot. Focused skill development includes:
Writing Java command-based code to opperate the drivetrain, cameras, sensors, and mechanisms of the robot.
Testing all code.
Managing all physical resources spanning each department. Focused skill development includes:
Sorting and managing inventory.
Placing inventory orders.
Resource management and organization.
