Math Fact Masters Challenge
How It Works
In the month of January, students are challenged to Master the basic math facts that match the math standards for their grade level.
Our goal for mastery of each level is 30 facts correct in 1 min. 30 sec. on the online timings on Fun 4 the Brain. Or 30 facts correct on a written or oral 1 min. timing.
First & Second Grades- Addition and Subtraction
Third Grade- Choose Addition or Subtraction and Multiplication
Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grades- Multiplication and Division
Math Fact Masters
Students will receive a prize and recognition for each set of skills they master. (See lists on How to page. Set one is in italics, set 2 regular font.)
Students who complete the challenge for all four operations will be awarded the status of Math Fact Masters and will receive recognition and a prize.
Why is this important?
Students use basic math facts in the process of learning mathematical processes throughout school. If a student has mastered their math facts, it makes new learning less complicated and stressful. See more on this topic by clicking the video link below.
