Meet the Learning Coaches
This year, the team in Learning Habitat 6 are very excited to be working together for the first time. They can't wait to share all the knowledge and experience from their various backgrounds with their learners. Find out about some new and familiar faces:
I am thrilled to be joining the team at Ormiston Primary School.
I have worked in a collaborative environment for a number of years and I am so excited to be working with the learners in LH6. My favourite learning areas are reading, writing, mathematics and physical education.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and you will often catch me out walking my dog Evie.
I you have any questions please contact me via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Welcome to Habitat 6,
I am excited to be part of an innovative and collaborative team of learning coaches and am looking forward to another year at Ormiston Primary.
My focus as a learning coach is to create a safe and challenging environment for our learners. In an ever changing world , I believe it's important that we teach resilience, mindfulness and foster curiosity.
I am fortunate to have three wonderful children and last year celebrated my eldest daughters wedding in Fiji. In my free time I enjoy running half marathons, up-cycling old furniture, and cooking up a storm! While, during the summer months I can be found sailing in the Hauraki Gulf with my husband and our dog Bones.
I look forward to sharing LH6's learning with you in 2017.

I joined the #oresome team of educators at OrmPS in 2016. The transition from a traditional single-cell classroom to a team-teaching environment has forced me to rethink how I teach and also how working within a collaborative environment can open the doors to a broader range of learning opportunities - for both the learners and myself!
In 2016 I achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Digital Technologies through Mind Lab. This study provided me with a greater awareness of how we can provide alternative ways for learners to learn and I am interested in putting this knowledge into practise in LH6.
When not at OrmPS, I like to spend my time reading, walking, sailing around our beautiful Hauraki Gulf, dancing and spending time with friends and family.
If you have a question about our learning in LH6, then please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
Hey there learners! I am thrilled to be joining the Ormiston Primary School family this year.
I'm a 'Jersey Bean', which means I'm coming to you all the way from a small island called Jersey in the United Kingdom (Google it!). In the past, I have taught in English primary schools, but can't wait to experience teaching in New Zealand and the Kiwi lifestyle.
My absolute favourite areas of learning are reading, writing, science and history. But, saying that, this year I am most excited about working collaboratively and integrating technology into all aspects of the curriculum in LH6. I know that working as part of Ormiston's innovative learning environment will greatly further my own professional development, so I can't wait to discover new pedagogical strategies with all of you.
In my spare time, I love spending as many moments at the beach as possible - learning how to surf, paddle boarding or swimming in sea. Other hobbies include cooking, reading and running. Please feel free to come and ask me to find out more!

Tena Koutou Katoa! I am super excited to be joining the team of educators and learners in LH6.
I look forward to connecting with all and exploring and expanding our capabilities. Working collaboratively with the other #oresome educators in our Innovative Learning Environment allows many exciting possibilities in all areas of learning.
My experience is varied in a range of New Zealand primary schools as well as in the UK. When not at OrmPS I am a busy Mum of three primary aged children.
I enjoy reading, swimming, cooking and learning anything new.
I can't wait to continue the learning journey.
