With all the different religions, how can you know which represent the true God?
All religions have some good in them, otherwise people would not follow them. There is one that claims exclusivity. Jesus said that no-one can come to the Father (the true God) except through Him. This is a claim, which if it is true, then we know which is the true way to God.
Testing the claim: "Jesus is alive". God the Father raised Him from the tomb on Sunday morning after he had been in the grave from Friday late afternoon. He appeared to over 500 people during the 40 days following his resurrection. The resurrection changed the fearful disciples to bold witnesses that Jesus was the Son of God. The Jewish leaders did not want the resurrection of Jesus broadcast, and could have stopped the spread of this Christian teaching by producing the body of Jesus. Because they had Roman soldiers guarding the tomb, they knew where He was buried. They could not produce the body of Jesus to prove He remained dead. The best they could do was to bribe the soldiers to say that the disciples stole the body of Jesus while they slept. This is a pretty lame story, who believes a story of what sleeping people say they saw? Would Roman soldiers allow that to happen while on guard at the risk of their own lives? Would the disciples be bold and die for something they knew was not true?
The logical conclusion based on eye witness evidence which has been accurately recorded for our examination is to agree that the body was indeed missing, that the Jews could not produce it, that the Roman soldiers did not see anyone take the body while they slept, that Jesus did indeed rise from the dead.
Christianity is the only one that has a living saviour/founder. All the other religions have their founders in tombs or graves!
God allows men free choice. There will be men and women who read this page, see the logical arguments, yet choose to believe otherwise. Because God is a God of love, and love cannot be forced, God allows people to follow their free will, develop false systems and beliefs about worship which lead to many different religions in the world today.
Jesus taught exclusivity: He made the statement that no one comes to God (the Father), except through him. He claimed to be the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6). Either Jesus was correct and telling the truth or he was incorrect and teaching a lie.
The writer of this page prefers to have a living Saviour!
