This vehicle started as a blank cargo van. Insulation, windows, electrical and plumbing were first installed. After that, the flooring, side paneling and ceiling were installed. This vehicle was purpose-built as a hybrid for camping, cargo and passenger use. Two rows of seats can be installed in their Mercedes factory seat brackets, maximizing passenger capacity to 8 people. The seats can be removed to allow a fully open space for cargo hauling needs. A twin-size bed is also available as an option in the open area. This bed frame can be stored by attaching it to the ceiling. Two different lengths of legs are available so this bed frame can also function as an outdoor table. 20 gallons of fresh water is on-board, and a 20-gallon gray water tank is mounted on the underside of the vehicle. A 20-pound propane tank is mounted on the underside of the vehicle for heating and cooking purposes. This Sprinter is equipped with push button four-wheel drive for off-road use and is completely capable of off-grid living with a 180-watt solar system and 320 amp-hour battery bank. The propane heater with a digital thermostat keeps you warm in the colder temps, and the roof mounted fan, combined with the vented windows, gives a cool breeze in the warmer months. Although there is currently not an AC unit, wiring is already in place for a roof mounted unit. Drawers and cabinets are built in near the back for storing all of your essentials. 12-volt and 120-volt power are distributed extensively throughout the vehicle for charging and utility use. the 120v outlets are capable of 15-amps per circuit and 2000-watts total from the inverter. This van can handle whatever is thrown at it: a simple weekend camping trip, a dirt bike race with your friends, a wedding reception party bus, a trailer full of toys, or a month long off-grid hunting trip deep in the backcountry. Load up what you need and head out.Â
This Sprinter was originally a blank cargo set-up. Insulation, wiring and plumbing first installed. After that, ceiling, floor and wall panels installed. This owner's dream was to have a van capable of hauling a few people, dirt bikes, and hunting gear while providing comfortable sleeping arrangements inside regardless of weather. For that, we mounted a 3-person seat up front that folds out into a twin sized bed. In addition, a murphy bed on the passenger back wall was built utilizing a 6" full-size memory foam mattress. For storage, cargo bags were mounted on the driver's side top corner. L-track was strategically installed on the floor for tie-down mounting for dirt bikes or a 4-wheeler. A propane heater with a digital thermostat was installed along with a roof-mounted AC unit. 12-volt and 120-volt outlets were distributed throughout the van for utility needs. A small tool box was designed and built into the left rear corner. This build exceeded our customer's expectations of capability!
This van started as a blank cargo van. Our customer wanted a simple camping set up with a small bed, sink, and power. We designed and built the van with a sink set up utilizing two portable 5-gallon water tanks for fresh and gray water. A permanent, single-person memory foam mattress lines the back passenger side and the space beneath the bed frame is ideal for storage. A roof fan was installed for air flow. 12-volt and 120-volt outlets were strategically placed for charging and utility needs. This van was also insulated to help keep regulate indoor temperature regardless of outside weather conditions. A lot of creativity was designed into this van to maximize the utility of the small area. Our customer was extremely happy with the results!
