In 5th grade we learn about US History. Here are some of the cool projects I did this year!

Unit 1: The First Americans

The first project I did was a WebQuest to learn more about American Indian Culture Regions. My group and I researched our assigned culture region and then built our own website to teach others about our region. Here is a link to our website (INSERT THE LINK HERE)

Unit 2: Age of Exploration

Next, we learned about explorers by doing something called Iron Chef. Here is the final Iron Chef slide deck (INSERT IT HERE)

Units 3 & 4: Life in the Colonies

I worked with Google MyMaps to create an interactive map of one of the 13 colonies. Here is my map (INSERT IT HERE)

Units 5 & 6: The American Revolution

There were many things that led up to the Revolutionary War; the causes are like puzzle pieces...they all fit together to lead the American Colonies to Revolution. (INSERT A PHOTO OF YOUR PUZZLE HERE)

Unit 7: US Constitution

After the Revolutionary War ended, the new United States country struggled to form a government but after much debate the new leaders created the US Constitution. We had fun doing a BreakOut EDU to save the Constitution with Mr. Cutler. See if you can solve the puzzles. (INSERT THE SHARED GOOGLE DOC FROM GOOGLE CLASSROOM UNDER "SOCIAL STUDIES")

Unit 8: Pioneers & Westward Expansion

The final part of US History we studied was how the western lands became part of the United States. We are enjoying doing a Pioneers simulation. You can see the progress my Wagon Train (the ___ (color) marker) has made since we left Fort Independence. Check out the second Trail Decision my Wagon Train made on our journey.
