Sue’s path to the organic food world is as unique as her recipes, rooted in a deep love for science and education.
A proud graduate of UMD College Park with a B.S. in Zoology, Sue initially brought her passion for the natural world to institutions like the Staten Island Zoo. This led her into the classroom, where she eventually became a dedicated, full-time educator in New York City.
For two decades, Sue was a beloved 7th-grade science teacher on Staten Island. Her professional life revolved around nurturing young minds, but her personal life inspired a new scientific pursuit: clean eating.
The business, Organic Bites by Sue, was born out of a mother's need to create nutrient-dense, safe food for her son, who faced various food sensitivities. It was a project fueled by a "crunchy" philosophy, which was only amplified by raising two small children.
In 2022, Sue brought her teaching career closer to home in New Jersey, but her dual life truly took off: Teacher by day, organic entrepreneur by night.
Starting with just a small market twice a year, Sue now juggles her full-time commitment to public education with the growing demand for her recipes, preparing for weekly pop-ups and retail partnerships. Every product is a testament to her dedication to healthy, growing bodies—both in the classroom and at the kitchen counter.
