Oregon Beta Statement of Values
The pursuit of excellence in mathematics drives decision making and informs the ways that we approach mathematics, our colleagues and the larger mathematics community. Members of the Oregon State University chapter (Oregon Beta) of Pi Mu Epsilon demonstrate excellence not only in their coursework and use of mathematics but also in the ways they interact with others in the mathematical community. The Oregon Beta chapter values the pursuit of excellence in all areas related to mathematics and mathematics education. These areas include doing mathematics, communicating mathematics, supporting growth in mathematics, and furthering a welcoming and supportive environment in mathematics.
