Activities

Local activities of our PME chapter are organized in conjunction with our existing Math Club, AWM chapter and SIAM chapter. Past activities have included: 

• attending local and national conferences 

• inviting internal and external speakers to address  undergraduate students 

• organizing problem solving groups for PME Journal problems or Putnam problems

• organizing a regional undergraduate conference: the Northwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium

Induction

The 2023 Pi Mu Epsilon Induction Ceremony for the Oregon Beta Chapter was held Wednesday May 24, 2023.

The 2022 Pi Mu Epsilon Induction Ceremony for the Oregon Beta Chapter was held Monday May 23, 2022.

Recognition

Professor Nathan Gibson receives the triennial Faculty Advisor Award in 2011 for his service to the mathematical community. Professor Gibson is the founder of the Northwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium (NUMS) and the advisor to the Oregon Beta Chapter.
