Sam is a candidate in the Chemical Engineering PhD program at OSU, and is pursuing a Graduate Certificate for College and University Teaching. She is looking to apply for post-doc positions after completing her PhD work, and a future career in academia.
Sam's research is focused on developing vaginal and bronchial epithelial in vitro models to better understand the properties regulating transport across the epithelium.
Completed collaboration project with HP on manufacturing in vitro constructs.

Summer Experience in Science and Engineering for Youth (SESEY) is a week long program to promote education in STEM fields. Our summer 2022 research team investigated the diffusion properties of hydrogels.
Our summer 2024 SESEY team improved upon this research investigating the effects of hydrogel and crosslinker density on gel diffusion rates for gels in transwell plates.
Pastimes include rock climbing, biking slacklining, skiing, backpacking, swimming, painting, and baking.
