Payload is responsible for the design and fabrication of the rover payload, including the chassis, wheels, ice collection system, payload ejection and retention systems, and all required electronics to make these systems functional. Key responsibilities include meeting all customer requirements, designing a payload that reliably functions, and rigorously testing prior to final launch.
The remote control system mainly consists of the Xbox One remote control and two XBee-Pro RF modules. The user input via Xbox One is processed through the Processing IDE, user command is sent and received between the RF transceivers, and the wireless transmission is processed through microcontroller programming.
